Merry Christmas!

Updated: Mar 3, 2021

As we enter into the Christmas season in this most trying of years, we want to acknowledge how your care and commitment to this ministry never wavered. Your donations and support

throughout this year of uncertainty and confusion helped to keep women and their children in

warm and safe homes and shelters.

Along with you, we have never experienced need quite like 2020 presented. As our staff and

volunteers navigated the challenges of providing safe housing during a pandemic, we were

continually blessed by the amount of generosity our communities provided. From January

through June, all our shelters were full and we had numerous hotel rooms in three towns filled with women and children escaping violent homes. You decided to cook meals, breakfast, lunch and dinners, for these families while they were schooling, working and living in motel rooms. Each day our communities brought donations so that these families would know that they were not invisible. Your support along with our amazing volunteers and staff, not only provided safe environments but provided a space where families actually thrived.

Even though we looked a bit different at times, PRMAFW was open and available all year. We provided shelter, transition housing, counseling, paralegal assistance, advocacy, video court accompaniment, zoom meetings, daily lunches for our Spirit Lake children in the summer, clothes, food, and supplies. We were blessed with several COVID grants enabling us to pay for 83 client’s rent, deposits, storage fees, airline and bus tickets, hotel rooms and car repairs. In our shelter program we sheltered 198, while providing services for more than 2400 men, women and children in crisis.

As we look forward to 2021, we know that there will always be families struggling to make positive choices for themselves while living through crisis and violence. We are committed to providing compassion, education, options and relief. We know that you are committed to helping us do that. Thank you for supporting us, having faith in our abilities, and providing the funds we need to help families recover and find peace.

Blessings,
